These are the direct object pronouns.  They are used when we want to replace the noun.  The direct object pronoun is placed before the verb in most cases and must agree with the noun in gender and number.

 

Examples

 

I need money – Necesito el dinero             Lo necesito  – I need it

You eat the bread – Comes el pan             Lo comes – you eat it 

I read the magazine – Leo la revista          La leo – I read it

We eat fruit – Comemos las frutas             Las comemos
