POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS

These are the possessive pronouns.  They are used to show possession or ownership of a noun e.g. the house is mine.  You will see that there are more than one form of each possessive pronouns e.g. mío, mía, míos and mías all mean mine.  Mío is the male singular form, mía is the female singular, míos is the male plural and mías is the female plural.

If the noun is female the possessive pronoun will be female.  If the noun is male the possessive pronoun will be male.

If the noun is singular the possessive pronoun will be singular.  If the noun is plural the possessive pronoun will be plural.

EXAMPLES

La casa es mía / las casas son mías

El apartamento es mío / los apartamentos son míos
