These are the Reflexive, Indirect and Direct Pronouns. These are placed before the verb in any tense except for the following three exceptions.
- The Infinitive (full verb)
- The Gerundio (ING)
- The Positive Command
In these three cases the pronoun must come after and in fact joins on to the verb.
- Voy a lavarme
- Estoy lavandome
- Lavate
If more than one pronoun is needed you must use the R.I.D. Rule
R – Reflexive pronoun comes first
I – Indirect pronoun comes second
D – Direct pronoun comes last
The last and final thing that you need to remember is that you can not use the Indirect pronouns LE or LES followed by the Direct pronouns lo, la, los or las.
The LE or LES must first be changed to SE.
